Lesa Peterson


Lesa M. Peterson is a Consultant in Merces’ Gainesville office and manages the operations of the firm in the Southeast Region of the United States.  She is the Primary Consultant for clients in the Southeast Region, primarily Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), and assists clients with the development and implementation of compensation programs.  Lesa is also a Senior Consultant with FQHC Associates, a trusted partner of Merces, where she provides a broad range of operational consulting services to FQHC clients.

Working in a management role for FQHCs Lesa oversaw the operations of nine medical facilities, three dental offices, and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, a mobile medical and dental unit operated by the organization in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southwest Florida. She also managed special programs, including a medical partnership with the Florida State University College of Medicine and a pediatric dental residency with the University of Florida College of Dentistry.  Lesa is a therapist by training, with a background in social service ranging from case management of students with disabilities, to vulnerable adults at risk of abuse/neglect/exploitation. In addition, Lesa spent several years at a hospice organization as the provider relations manager.

An army veteran, Lesa received Army Achievement Medals including one for meritorious achievement in support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm. She has also been honored by Gulfshore Business as a “40 Under Forty” business leader and by the State of Minnesota for contributions on behalf of children.

Lesa was most recently employed by Collier Health Services, Inc. (d/b/a Health Network of Southwest Florida) for nine years, serving as the organization’s Director of Operations. Lesa joined Merces to manage the new Southeast Regional operations in January 2014.

Lesa was an active board member with Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southwest Florida for six years. She is also very passionate about animal rescue and sits on the board of the Gulf Coast Humane Society, a local no-kill shelter. In their free time, she and her husband, Rich, enjoy running, biking and craft beer.
